Understanding permissions

Smiile has two user roles: admins and contributors. Each has different permissions within your workspace.

Admin permissions

Admins have full control over the workspace:

  • Create, edit, and delete cards

  • Manage contacts and import from Slack or CSV

  • Configure company settings and branding

  • Connect integrations like Slack

  • Manage billing and subscription plans

  • Invite or remove other admins

Contributor permissions

Contributors can participate in cards but cannot manage workspace settings:

  • Sign cards when invited

  • Add messages and stickers to their signatures

  • View cards they've contributed to

Contributors cannot create cards, manage contacts, or access workspace settings.

All workspace members start as contributors. Admins must invite them to gain admin permissions.
